Bruce is a retired C.P.A. He was in active practice for over 40 years, most of it in Boise, Idaho, and most of it with his own accounting firm, Stratton & Associates PLLC, which he founded in 1979. He retired in 2017 and has served as a volunteer mentor with the Treasurer Valley Chapter of SCORE since that time.
Bruce has extensive experience in a broad range of business and financial disciplines including accounting, income tax planning and preparation, estate tax planning, preparation and interpretation of financial statements, business valuation, business entity selection, management advisory and planning services, succession planning, and retirement planning.
He also has experience working with nonprofits having served on the board of directors and as treasurer of several large non-profits, including The Treasure Valley YMCA, the Ore-Ida Council of the Boys Scouts of America, and USA Swimming, the national governing body for the Olympic Sport of swimming, where he also served as its president for four years. He currently serves as the Idaho Representative to the IRS Taxpayer Advocacy Panel.
